I got a gig away from my hometown, in central Mexico, and that have been keeping me somewhat busy, I did get a nice Road Trip in, details to follow ...

Semana Santa is coming

Semana Santa marks a catholic celebration with big roots in the area, from the indigenous interpretations to the spring breakers week long party, for most of the people its a week to spend with family, usually in the various beaches or by the river having some mariscos and carne asada and attending church.

The weeks before Semana Santa are called Cuaresma and its a period of repent and forgiveness. A long standing tradition its the representation of the procession of Christ by the various native Indians, usually Yoremes and Yaquis, called Fariseos o Matachines.

Its been a long, long, fun week ...

For a change, today`s blog won`t talk about travels or cool places, it`s all about my daughter Olga Alicia, and her 15th birthday.
In Los Mochis we are lucky enough to still have a Debutantes Party, each year our local Country Club host a dance to celebrate the young girls introduction to Society, its a big deal, with preparation several months in advance, we even get to have a waltz dance with our daughters in front of what seems like a Million people, Corny, Old fashioned? Maybe, but one look at the young Debutantes faces and you know its a day they wont forget for the rest of their lives.
